4.1 Legends of Brabant

The view of the painter on his surroundings, the bird’s perspective on his environment, Brabant, widened to the macro-universe with the double star system: the sun and Nemesis.

The feeling of association and unity with the universe. Realising to be part of the creation-process. Nature as a continuously transforming process.

Religion and mystics in one oceanic feeling.

This series contains 11 black and white drawings, oil on canvas to which leather has been attached as if it were an anthropomorphic being.

The legend is a synthesis work, created out of the first pages of Descartes work (edition of 1684), Homer's Odyssey, the moon-cycles, The Legends of Brabant... to be read as a comic strip.

De visie van de kunstenaar op zijn omgeving, het vogelperspectief op wat hem omringt, Brabant, verbreed naar de macrocosmos met een dubbelsterren systeem: de zon en Nemesis.

Het gevoel van vereniging en eenheid met de cosmos. Realiseren deel te zijn van een creatieproces. De natuur als een eeuwig veranderingsproces.
