4.0 Moon cycles

Based on the celestial atlas of the Italian scientist Automarchi a series of triptychs were painted. Partly based on a scientific approach, the positions of the moon, and the planet's gravity and measuring tools like the octant, the sextant, the Jacobs staff, the Chinese travel-stick and many others. This work finds its main inspiration in man’s fantasy about the moon.

Gebaseerd op de hemelatlas van de Italiaanse wetenschapper Automarchi, werden een aantal triptieken geschilderd. Gedeeltijk gebaseerd op een wetenschappelijk aanpak, de posities van de maan, de aantrekkingskracht van de aarde en meetinstrumenten zoals de octant, de sextant, de Jacobstaffel, de Chinese reisstok en vele anderen. Deze werken vonden hun inspiratie in de menselijke fantasie over de maan.
